Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth Herrera brings a lifetime of service, leadership, and advocacy to her candidacy for the Pierce County Charter Review Commission. As the State Legislative Chair for a combat veterans organization, she has worked directly with lawmakers in Olympia and Washington, D.C., championing policies that support veterans and their families.

For over six years, Elizabeth served as president of the largest Veterans Auxiliary in Washington State. Under her leadership, the organization expanded its outreach, improved services, and strengthened support systems for veterans across the region. Her career in community outreach and customer service has given her a deep understanding of how systems impact everyday people—and how to fix them when they fail.

Elizabeth is the wife of a combat veteran, a mother, and a proud public servant. She knows the sacrifices military families make and understands the importance of public safety, transparency, and balanced governance. She will ensure the county charter reflects the values of service, fairness, and accountability.

With her extensive experience and strong moral compass, Elizabeth will bring compassion, integrity, and real-world insight to the Charter Review Commission—working to ensure Pierce County government serves those who serve, and the communities they protect.
