Elect Elizabeth

Charter Review Commission - Council District 2, Position 3

“Together we can ensure the Charter represents the values of our community.”

Elizabeth’s Priorities

As a member of the Pierce County Charter Review Commission, Elizabeth is committed to addressing several key issues that will shape the future of our community:

Elected Sheriff Accountability

We must maintain an elected sheriff who is directly accountable to the people of Pierce County. This ensures that our public safety leadership remains responsive to the community’s needs and concerns, rather than being appointed by the executive. Supporting our elected sheriff with the necessary resources and tools is vital for effective public safety.

Infrastructure Improvement and Maintenance

We must prioritize the improvement and maintenance of our roads to facilitate smooth transportation for our residents, whether they are commuting to work or school. It is crucial that funding allocated for road projects is dedicated specifically to enhancing our infrastructure, ensuring that our roads meet the needs of our growing population.

Taxation Policy

I believe it is essential to uphold a high standard for tax increases in our county. Maintaining a supermajority requirement for raising taxes will protect our residents from undue financial burden and ensure that any tax increases are carefully considered and justified.

By focusing on these priorities, we can work together to strengthen our community and ensure that Pierce County remains a safe, accessible, and well-managed place for all residents.
